Lightbulb Car Lifts

Thinking of getting a lift with ability to perform suspension/brake work.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Additionally I do not have a front lift.

Ideal length? Height? Approach Ramp length?

Thanks in advance.

This flush-mount scissor lift setup has been great. The lifts are nice and compact (note that the connection between the lifts is completely buried, unlike the lifts in the below links, and only the lift platforms themselves are exposed. The linked lifts have the ramps exposed in the cut-outs as well since they can be mounted above or below ground. Personally, if you know you're going to flush-mount the lift, I'd buy lifts designed purely for flush-mount to get the best possible fitment.

I cheaped out and bought these Chinese lifts, but they've been rock solid ever since install (only about a year or so in service so far).

What do you do if you have to work on the rather large part of the underside of the car covered by the platforms?

This generally is not a problem with a Porsche. I have run into a few problems with other cars using my scissor lift where the platforms get in the way. I guess the question is do you want a flush mounted lift or one with post. I just hated the thought of post in my garage.

There is virtually nothing under those parts of the car. It's just undercarriage and maybe a few brake and fuel lines running along the edges of the car from front to rear. It doesn't cover any of the suspension areas, engine, etc.

If you have the space/ height a 2 post asymmetric lift is good for working on cars. I have a bendpak xpr10a.

My space is limited so I went with the MaxJax lift. It was the best car tool I've ever bought.

I was able to put a bend pak scissor lift poured into floor and flush mounted into a standard size garage with a ceiling height of 9' 11" -----and it works perfect for 911.
