Default Chris Smith Racing Center Bypass

I'm sure you guys are getting tired of me screwing with this. After I took the FVD j-pipes off, I decided I was going to stick with the Sharkwerks. It really is great.

Well...that lasted about three days. I called Chris Smith in Atlanta just to talk to him about his bypass solution. About 5 minutes later, they had my credit card, and one was in the mail.

Since I don't let anyone else drive my car, the best way for me to compare the sound is to make a video. Plus I need to get my money's worth out of the Rode Stereo Video Mic X that I bought.

I really like the way it sounds. I wasn't sure about it, but the single "butthole" look is growing on me. I still have some adjustment to do. It's a little off center.

Being off-center would drive me insane and I'm not nearly as OCD as you

The best sounding center pipe solution I've heard is RSS. They just updated it for the 991. You might want to check it out.

Really cool comparison! Love the sounds but really don't like the look, sorry. The cutout in the rear diffuser was not meant for a circle. The dual pipes look perfect. Even oval tips look a little 90s to me.

Looks like a coffee can exhaust. Maybe you need to stick some vtec badges on the car

Man, I'm all about keeping it real, but some of you guys are tough. I thought it was something cool to try. For me, the single is odd looking, and it probably doesn't sound different enough for me to keep it over the SW. I just thought it would be a fun experiment.

I do like the sound of the CSR better from the videos, at least, just not the tips.

I completely agree. I'm going to leave it on for a while to see if the RSR style grows on me. I'm guessing it won't.

Yeah, both of them sound similar to stock with slightly different tones and about 25% louder.

When you start out the thread saying that it looks like a "buttonhole" I wouldn't be at all surprised when people say it looks horrible?

I do appreciate the sound and effort.

Cheers

Man, clearly you have taken this machine apart ........I can definitely hear the difference, but it's all preference now as they both sound good. Don't think you can go wrong with either sound, but that one holer is no looker in my opinion. I think your car is great as is, but it's cool you have the time and patience to tinker. I give your wife credit that she has not locked you out of the garage yet?
