Give up the secret!

Did Rob at Tweeter in KOP build your Civic?
I'm super efficient.

Yep, Rob built it. I wonder where Rob is these days. I worked there '99-'02. Do we know each other?

Thanks. Hey Money, so are all of these speaker locations present on the base Sound Plus system (other than the subwoofer)? I'm curious how many of these could accept roughly drop-in Burmester parts, and then drop in an aftermarket amp.

Any particular reason you couldn't use the OEM amp location? Were the amps you wanted to use just too big to fit? I wonder if some good quality amps could be shoved under the rear deck lid like stock with some searching.

No, we don't. But I recall you saying you worked at Tweeter and I remember that amp rack and Illusion sub. Esp the sub since it was new. My buddy and I had Z28's that we would work on and we tap into Robb's expertise from time to time. He built a fiberglass sub enclosure for my Z that had an Eclipse 10". I also did some metal work for some of his projects.

Congrats on getting it finally done, that looks really clean. I wish I could here how it sounds.

I went through your post and may have missed it. Did you figure out where the tweeter wires lead to? You mentioned the the midrange and tweeters come out as one from the amp, which means there should be a crossover somewhere.

I have installed the focal tweeters and in the process of making my own adapters for the woofers. I still have to wait for some of the electronics to arrive.

I think the single pair the goes to the 3" in the door and tweeter in the dash are both pass full range and are simply wired in parallel. My guess is that they use a capacitor to filer low frequencies to the tweeter. I just left the 3" mid wire unconnected and taped off.

I'll just bought Derek from SIM a plane ticket to fly down August 1st/2nd to tune it for me. He's bringing the RTA. I'll have a video of the tuning and final thoughts with photos of the completed project soon after.

Curious: were they not able to just share their settings from one of their GT3 installs of the same system?

Efficient or not... You've got some SERIOUS hours invested in your garage, detailing, car projects, research for said projects, testing, picture taking, video production, purchase documentation, posting reviews, etc...

Color me green! Lol

Nicely done.

My ex wife said I loved my cars more than her since I spent more time with them, than her! Doh! Women just don't understand the 'car crazy' hobby... Consider yourself extremely fortunate to have a wife and family that is supportive and understanding of your hobbies.

Having a frequency, phase / time analyzer will be needed for the final tuning. I am waiting for my **** (amps and DSP) to arrive at the end of July and hopefully will be able to do it myself, of course with some help from your posts

Great post as usual Matt

I have 991 GTS with Bose, the audio system is horrible compared to my previous 997.2 4S cab also with bose, the bass is very loose its allover the place, 997.2 was 50% better in that department. I think Porsche went for cheeper Bose setup with 991 now that they offer the Brumester.

GT3 with the top audio option is not far from the 991 with Bose

Matt, just when I thought I had seen the extreme on the extent and distance to perfection
that you have demonstrated...... you go and do THIS! I'm speechless! That's off the chart!
Awesome!
