Default Bucket seats tilting.

My car is european and has the GT2 bucket seats. The problem is that the angle is too vertical and I would like to angle it more to the back. Does anyone have recommendations how to do that? The seat does not have different settings and I do not want to make new holes in the seat.

I was thinking of adding some washer under front screws that would life the front a little bit. Anyone know what else we could do?

You might try Cantrell Motorsports. They make a lowering bracket for the GT2 type bucket seats. You can also get a little backward tilt with the brackets. I have these in my 987.2 Cayman. I am not sure that the same brackets will fit in a 991 but may be worth checking with Cantrell.

The Cantrell brackets have 3 position holes in the back and 3 in the front. If you use the lowest hole in the back and the middle or highest hole in the front the seat will be tilted relative to the factory position. Mine is set up using the lowest in the back and the middle in the front. It is not a lot of tilt but is noticeable. It's more comfortable with a hans than factory brackets. Hope that helps.

Thanks so much. Do they look good like the factory brackets?

and finally is this what you are talking about although it writes 997 in the title?

yes, the brackets are the 4th photo on that page. I think the factory brackets look nicer but you hardly see these anyway. These bolt directly onto the factory sliders which are the same for 987 and 997. What I don't know is if these will bolt onto the 991 sliders. I would definitely give Cantrell a call and see if they know or have installed in a 991.

If you have the GT2 seats, the Cantrell bracket should work. If you have the 918 seats, I'm not sure.

I always tilted up all my 997 bucket seats about an inch until it touched the roll bar.
Just lift up the front of the seat rails with a bracket thingy.

Just email cantrell and the bracket does not fit on the 991. What to do now?? what I did is I removed the screw between the seat and the railing, added some washers and put the screw back in.. But its still not tilted enough.

The bolt holes on the base are about 18" apart, front to rear. So if you raise the front 1" you will get about 3.2 degrees of tilt.

U probably need customized brackets(uprights) from slider to seat to get that tilt. I suggest making some measurements of existing upright and have a machinist fabricate a custom upright- one being th standard tilt and the next 2 adjustments for more tilt. Mike

Can you give more detail what you mean with upright?

I did, they did the most they could but adding washers to the screws in front which gave an extra 2-3 degrees of tilt, but still not enough

The only solution for now would be to get used to it I guess?
