Default My GT3 has a new friend

I just picked it up last week and couldn't be happier. Got rid of my E46 M3 and replaced it with this. Totally different car than the GT3 so they make the perfect combo. I was up in the air about trading the GT3 for a scud and every time I got in the GT3 I would change my mind because it's so good and I didn't want old technology and to be worried about Ferrari repairs. Additionally, I figured for the money it would take to upgrade to the scud I could just get an M3 in addition to the GT3 and I think I made the right choice.

Anyone else have the same combo?

Same combo but one generation behind:

997.2 GT3
E92 M3

Great combo regardless of generation. Congrats!

This is what has stopped me from getting one - still think about it though as I need a small 4-door still.

Congratulations! What a beautiful pair of "stable mates". If only they could talk ... what would the midnight conversation be?

E90 M here...4-door practicality and love the V8 sound. I convinced the missus that it's my "family car" and she doesn't mind driving it when she has to.

Same here, had mine for 2 months, then traded it for a 6MT cayman gts to compliment my GT3!

The F80 M3 has a nice power plant (hp/torque), but in the end I kept wanting to get back in my GT3.

Congrats on the car, it just wasn't for me!

M3 is more comfortable, GT3 handles better and is an overfull more fun/raw car. I will rarely track the m3 and its a fun car to take out to the mountains and beat on. Believe it or not the M3 feels faster in a straight line in Denver because of the high altitude.

I've seen yours in your thread. You actually inspired me to get an M3 because I loved your garage so much lol.

This was the #1 reason it took me so long to ante up and get one. I've had every m3 other than an e30 and the turbos pushed me away. I have NEVER been a fan of turbo cars but I am actually really impressed with how the car drives for having turbos. Not something I would want on the track but on the street it doesn't bother me one bit. If I want an N/a car I'll just hop in the GT3.

Agreed. I'm currently back and forth between FL and Denver and I decided having the fun cars in Denver was best because of the roads here. I still own my house in FL and I am renting in Denver because I don't know how long I'll be here so I haven't cared too much about the garage. As long as they are covered and way from hail I'm happy!
