Default LAUNCH CONTROL PROBLEMS

Yesterday I did my first AX in the new GT3, car is great as we all know but I tried launch control twice and experienced problems both times. The car did not want to rev at first tried a few times then it did rev and attempted to launch but stumbled badly, the next time it did not want to rev so I said forget it. I did observe this at previous AX events with several other cars. Does anyone know if there are any software updates or know others with this issue?

Make sure you are engaging launch control correctly. If you let up it will stumble.
- Press the brake firmly
- Put the accelerator to the floor
- A message will appear that indicates LC is engaged
- Release the brake and keep your foot in it
- Smile from ear to ear

That happens because you hesitate flooring the throttle. It must be done swiftly otherwise the car will attempt to drive away and fight against the brake.

I've had no problems. Both of the above comments are spot on to avoid issues with LC.

Above comments are dead on. But do you need launch control for an autocross?

Thanks all for the imput but the problem seems that depressing the gas pedal the RPM does not want to go up. I will play with it some more and I would agree normally it may not help for AX but we had a great drag strip start.

When does a person need launch control.

Good point, actually. I've never used it for autocross; usually not enough straight at the start to make it worthwhile and the car "launches" well enough without LC anyway.

Your car came without a sport button, might be something to do with that, doubt it though. Doubt it even more with the cats.
