Just talk to a sales man at dealer. He said for now the trade in value is usually 10k under msrp, and they sell it 5k to 10k over msrp.

3 greenies = easy $1M Doubt this car sells, but it only takes one.

From the GT3RS registry, incomplete but showing at least 43:

2007 USA: 230 total = 50 black, 25 silver, 90 orange, 25 green, 40 white
2008 USA: 93 total = 19 black, 5 silver, 32 orange, 18 green, 19 white
USA: 323 total = 69 black, 30 silver, 122 orange, 43 green, 59 white 323 of 413 = 78%

The market is clearly hot for lightly used GT3's...my car was msrp of $156k and it was listed and sold at near $185k in one day....not by me of course...it was traded in for my 458, they sold it to a wholesaler who ended up selling to Porsche of Roslyn, NY.

The GT cars clearly hold value as long as the economy is good. I always wanted a green one, but certainly not that bad.

It is the car, but even moreso the economic context IMO. A Euro default, a bomb drop in the Middle East, or terrorist act to scare the world... all this air pressure will pop like a busted balloon faster than a blink of an eye. We are all riding the bucking bronco, but remember, cash is ALWAYS king. Especially when others don't have any.

Why all the optimism? Things are not all as rosy as you paint them, my friend!

Consolidated: I think you know. But just in case, I want to clarify the great-uncle on eBay is the 'special color' for the .1 997 gt3 RS in MY2007 & 2008, which is called 'RS Green', color code 2D8!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-...m=301653587919

It was a PTS color during the .2 997 gt3 RS period and still available to this day under that 'Exclusive' option. The name is now just called 'Green'. But the color code is still 2D8.

'Viper', color code 225, is different from 'RS Green' 2D8 or 'Signal Green' of any formulation (W25, 217 or 22S). See official color chips I photographed at 'Porsche Exclusive' Zuffenhausen in 2011:

Andre: Was DRL's MY2011 .2 gt3 gt3 RS purchased from 'Strong Porsche' in Utah truly PTS 'Viper Green', color code 225 (see photo below)?

We went through this drill once when DRL was buying the car...but he didn't verify the color code on his PTS on this thread!

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...y-new-car.html

What amount of $ did he sell it for?

****************

Another well-known MY2011 .2 997 gt3 RS originally ordered on spec by 'Sunset Porsche' in Florida turned out to be PTS 'Signal Green' W25, not 'Viper' or 'RS Green'!

This is the actual 'colour' code from inside the gas lid of that particular car!

The above car sold last at Gooding Scottsdale for $231K, including commission.

http://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/201...97-gt3-rs-3-8/

So don't assume all 'green' .2 997 gt3 RS are all just one particular PTS green hue!

Saludos,
Eduardo
