Fob battery died today
My fob battery died today. While checking in at the hotel in Saratoga, right out in front of the hotel. If there were more people out there it would have been a little embarrassing...
7 months and about 4,700 miles. Shortest battery life I have had yet. I was surprised. Had to use the actual key to get in the car. Thanks goodness they batteries are easy to change.

Generally when a key fob dies this quick it's probably due to a button being pressed. Happens with my wife. Both her Fobs died (I switch the fobs cuz I change the batteries for her so it's not the fob its self) quick with in a year when she keeps it in her hand bag.

I've had the same problem with my AMG63S which I attributed to having Keyless Entry with PushButton
starting. With the keyless systems, I'm told the computer in the car is constantly "listening" to detect the
presence of a key. Usually my key fob batteries last 3-4 years. Only my Keyless entry car key lasted 9 months. The Battery Change procedure is on You Tube if you want to do it yourself. Usually your dealer will swap it out at no charge as a courtesy.
