Default Fob battery died today

My fob battery died today. While checking in at the hotel in Saratoga, right out in front of the hotel. If there were more people out there it would have been a little embarrassing...

7 months and about 4,700 miles. Shortest battery life I have had yet. I was surprised. Had to use the actual key to get in the car. Thanks goodness they batteries are easy to change.

That's nuts. All my Porsche remotes for other cars have lasted years. I live in Saratoga...too bad we couldn't meet up.

Generally when a key fob dies this quick it's probably due to a button being pressed. Happens with my wife. Both her Fobs died (I switch the fobs cuz I change the batteries for her so it's not the fob its self) quick with in a year when she keeps it in her hand bag.

I'm here for a wedding this time. Timing is tight. Maybe next time we could make time for a cocktail somewhere in town. 😀

Could be it. I had it in a bag the other day because I was too lazy to take the fob back into the house after I got something out of the car before work. Although I have the case for around the fob and would have thought it would be more difficult to press a button...

Maybe simple as a bad battery.

I've had the same problem with my AMG63S which I attributed to having Keyless Entry with PushButton
starting. With the keyless systems, I'm told the computer in the car is constantly "listening" to detect the
presence of a key. Usually my key fob batteries last 3-4 years. Only my Keyless entry car key lasted 9 months. The Battery Change procedure is on You Tube if you want to do it yourself. Usually your dealer will swap it out at no charge as a courtesy.

I thought this might be it as well but our GT3s do not have keyless entry.

I swapped it out very easily. No issues there. Just thought the battery would last longer...
