Saying Goodbye to my GT3 :(
Hi All,
As many of you know, I have gone back and forth on the joy my GT3 brings me. On days when I can let her run, there's nothing better in the world. But 99% of the time, i am grinding my way through ATL traffic, in a car that I am completely wasting. THe car is incredible, but it's just not designed for what I am using it for.
I don't have room in the garage for another car, so I looked at Turbo, C2S, GTS, and nothing came close to the GT3 - they were all just disappointing - if I own a 911, it has to be a GT3.
So - with a very heavy heart, I moved on. To a 2015 M4. A torque monster that is a blast to drive around town, and does well at the track too. I pick it up later this week. It goes without saying I will miss the amazing engineering the GT3 provides - there is no other car quite like it, and I have always been amazed at its capabilities.
The trade value for my GT3 was really incredible. The market is very strong for these cars.
I am really excited about the M4, and I know it's the best choice of car for me. But man am I depressed about leaving the GT3 community - the smokies events, the forum, just awesome.
I've met some great friends in the year I've owned my GT3, and I'm sure this is a temporary departure. My situation with change in a year or two, and I'll have more time to enjoy the car. Until then, I'll be "roughing it" in the M4.
I'll have my GMG exhaust for sale fairly soon. I'll check in on occasion and will at least humor you at the smokies track day in the Fall.
The GT3 forum and community is unlike any other I've experienced in all the cars I've owned. Bimmerpost is a big and scary place, but I am going to do my best!

Both great cars, congrats. F8X M3/4 is a near perfect daily driver with teeth. The motor is great fun even at normal speeds and BMW really upgraded the interior experience.

I reay didn't expect to love it as much as I did. It's an awesome machine for my current needs.

Wow, didn't see this coming but understand you need a more practical car. I say build a bigger garage. Problem solved
Anyway we will miss you here and at the smokies event.

You'll be back. The M won't last one year and you will be bored out of your mind. Just got rid of mine so speaking from experience.

Good on you for making a wise decision. I had a gorgeous 997 cab, but with a short commute, no real back seat to accommodate famiily, and a focus on getting my driving enjoyment on the track, I let it go and replaced it with an SUV. I still miss that wonderful cab, but it was the right decision, so no regrets. I still have a C63, which is my ideal road car, and your M4 will likely fill the same niche for you. Enjoy!
