Question 991 RS steering wheel on regular GT3?

So the 991 GT3 RS has gotten (a possibly revised version of) the 918 steering wheel which is slightly smaller than the standard GT3 steering wheel.

Do you guys think it would be possible to fit an RS steering wheel onto a regular GT3 (MY2015)?

Porsche does sell the RS wheel separately and from what I can tell the changes between the non-RS and RS GT3's steering system are software-only, if at all.

Thoughts?

Also, hello everyone. This is my first thread. I've been reading Rennlist for a long time (and I have a few Porsches) but just recently joined as a member.

I think it is possible. The sport steering wheel on GT3 don't have function like they do on other Porsche, for example, no "launch control" light up when you launch.

The GT3 has the launch control light.

Hm. And the RS doesn't have a LC light?

Probably irrelevant to this discussion, but very similar steering wheels are fitted to the GT4 and the new Boxster Spyder (w/o paddles, of course.)

I think the wheel on the current GT3 and other cars have too much surface reflection from sunlight, and I would also like it to be a bit smaller in diameter.

Do the process exactly as described in the manual. You may have not actually activated the launch control.

If it will work, I'd be happy to swap. I want the slightly smaller RS wheel. Mine is leather, so I'd want to match that. PM if interested.

I'd be happy to swap with you as well, if you've got the standard Alcantara wheel. Mine is leather.

Hey Guys,

I am doing some research to buy a RS wheel which is 360 mm. The GT3 is no longer on the Porsche website. Any idea how big the regular GT3 wheel is??

For what it's worth, I switched my GT3 for a GT4 (which has the RS steering wheel) and it's the most amazing-feeling steering wheel I've ever used. Somehow it feels "tighter" and more precise than the regular 991 GT3 wheel. You won't be disappointed!

If you want an Alcantara swap, let me know.
GT3 Door handle swap would be considered for silver straps.
pm if you want to discuss.
