No, I'd keep my GT3 for track, then pair it with a Singer or 458 Speciale for weekend/poser

No way, I'd rather add a 991 turbo S with a roof box for ski trips.

I intend to have both with my GT4 November build allocation. I agree with all comments about about a classic and modern side by side. (we have an 89' Speedster that fulfills that need) But I just can't pass up the allocation of the GT4. We'll use it less as a track car, and more of a touring / DD car...It will make it to the track though...My wife is excited about it coming, I think! I do believe it'll be a bit of a collector / cult car for a while and I am trying to build a collection slowly with this move...

Own both, as well.

As mooty and others said: very, very different cars. They tickle me differently.

Both are must haves for me.

I own a 2015 GT3 and a 50th anniversary. For me it is a perfect combination. One is a classy ride and the other one, you know!
If I get an RS allocation, it would be a hard decision to which one I would part with though.

Considering how much I've spent on Porsches over the past decade+, they're winning in dramatic fashion.

Curious... does this mean you don't think the GT3 and GT4 are different?

They're the same in my eyes. What can a GT4 do that a GT3 can't, and vice versa?

Other than the obvious fact that they have different transmissions.

Transmission difference, speed difference, engine placement difference, look/aesthetic difference, size/weight difference, gearing difference, etc. But perhaps I'm just another PAG marketing sucker (note to self: bring up this possibility at next therapy appointment).

How about the GT4 and GT3 RS? Essentially the same? I ask because some think the RS isn't that different from the GT3. At what point do we have different cars?

Despite the difference in specifications, I still don't see any difference in functionality between the two cars.

They all accomplish the same goal - a street that that is competent on track - but all three are at different performance levels. I think its equally silly to own both a GT3 and RS in a two-car garage.

Same car? No way.

What a car accomplishes is not the intended purpose of its existence... Unless we are talking about a base Honda Civic.

What the car invokes in each individual is its purpose, when we're talking about cars like this.

The 981.1 Cayman GT4 and the 991.1 GT3 RS both invoke different feelings in me.

A piece of garage art, bubble wrapped in multiple layers of Opticoat and Clear Bra,that gets traded in for the next best thing to the blood thirsty dealer while taking a hit...?
