Simple: GT3. More car = "more better."

Just my opinion. Get what makes you happy.

I agree. Take the GT3. More car than the GT4=>more money=>no annoying manual=>and more performance that can't be exploited 90% of the time. Yeah take the GT3.

I think given the power of the GT3 having PDK actually lets you get more from the car, having less power in the GT4 with a manual means more involvement but at the substitute of the sheer power of the GT3. First world problems. Appreciate folks thoughts.
As a GT3 owner and a previous 981 boxster S owner and while I greatly prefer the GT3, in your particular scenario, I would likely go for the GT4 considering how little tracking you intend to do, as well as some of your other criteria.

Personally I would never choose a gt4 over a gt3 but I would love to have both.

This is the preferred solution, Macca did it, I did it. I will have had the GT3 a year when the GT4 delivers; my plan [which is fluid] is to sell the GT3 and keep the GT4 .... but without a year in the Gt3, , my decision might be different.

I disagree with the philosophy espoused by some -- more car = more better. Most modern sports cars have too much - too much weight, not enough tossability, far from the 72 s concept, and the Gt4 returns there to some degree. I cant use more than 4 gears [to redline] most of the time on the road in the GT3 [unless I'm soft pedalling]. While i like the lower [than past gt3s] gear set in the GT3 and Im very concerned about the high gears in the gt4 - even thogh my friends who have taken delivery say its not an issue -, the manual and the lugged wheels are pluses. I hate centre locks and the risk it exposes me to 200-300 miles from a dealer, and having to carry a big torque wrench to offset that.

And a GT3 is a "hotrodded 911" isn't it objectively, both have lovely ricer ridiculous wings! That we can agree on.

You are on the GT3 forum.
But you should still get the GT3. It's the better car.

I have a 15 GT3 and saw the GT4 in the flesh for the first time last night. Co-incidentally, it was the same colour and inside spec as my GT3. It looks really great, but I think the GT3 edges it on looks.

Prior to the GT3, I was a loyal manual gearbox fan, can heel and toe, etc. I now have to embarrassingly admit that I prefer the PDK. I would like to drive the GT4 before commenting on which one it better etc, however, I do suspect that it will be more useable in day to day driving, but this does not necessarily mean I would choose it over the GT3.

Its pretty tough for any car to be better me thinks...

Wow that's a sweet looking gt4 in red! Get the 4 now if you can then move on to the 3 when the 991.2 comes out in two years.

Just get both, drive 'em for a while and decide which to keep. It's not like either will depreciate much. I'll have a GT3, GT4 and GT3RS at the same and I'll make some sort of decision based on my impression of all three.

I'll have an RS and GT4.
But a GT3 and RS wouldn't work. I'd never use the GT3..

Unless you mean a manual GT3 but that's to close to GT4.

A GT4 too close to old 911 so I'm sticking to RS.
If old 911's would go I'd have the GT4 maxed out cheater level 11.
