Default '16 GT3 build opinions

My order will lock next week, curious from those of you that have been through this if I am missing anything. Debated a lot about SC but seems like a lot to pay for what appears to be track app with limited functionality. I also don't like the wart... Appreciate any opinions on things missing/unnecessary.

Build looks great! Since you doing the brushed aluminum package, you may want to consider the Aluminum Pedals. I love mine.

Looks like a great build. Some quick thoughts:

-- I skipped SC. No dash wart or roof wart for me. There are several threads on SC for the 1GT3 and it seems like most RLers say it's not worth getting. Some like it.

-- I seem to remember most saying Online Services was a waste. Here again, I think there is a thread or two on it.

-- No full leather interior?

-- You got the three options that most agree are the primary must-haves: front lift, buckets and extended range tank, so that's good.

-- Sound Package Plus has mixed reviews, but for $700 you get the better sound system plus PCM/Nav, so this would be next on the no-brainer list to me.

-- I don't remember anyone else selecting the Alcantara sun visors, so that is kind of unique. Not cheap, though.

Have fun with European delivery... that will be awesome!

Matt, can he get the aluminum pedals in anthracite to match his dash trim?

Get the full leather, it is fantastic compared to the stock.

I think your build looks great. I personally did not see the need for auto dimming "mirrors and rain sensors" - but I suppose that is a personal decision. I concur with "Money" the aluminum pedals are a great add. Not that expensive and I could not live with the stock plastic pedals on this car. I was initially concerned about what appeared to be a not very aggressive aluminum pedal surface, but now having them find they are fine with no surface slipping issues.

I question the value of the fire extinguisher. It is very small and is placed in front of the passenger seat. I think mounting hardware and size can be improved with aftermarket items...

If you plan to use the car on the street frequently, and navigation is important, then the " voice control" option is great. I have used it frequently, it is VERY responsive and intuitive to use.

I did option for the "online services." I think currently that the option is negligible for use. However I am told by the Porsche people that there will be some things coming down the line that will make it more advantageous regarding its use. Now you can upload Facebook, yelp reviews, etc. this may be a feature that will grow in time with tech innovations...

Nice build. Consider full leather. It is so much better than standard interior. It is the part of the car you will see most.

I agree with Greg on the auto dimming mirrors and rain sensors. And on the fire extinguisher. I skipped both.

Love the auto dimming mirrors and rain sensors. Personal preference. I skipped them on a previous car...regretted it.

Fire extinguisher is reasonable if you track. I've been in a burning car before.

IMO, go full leather. It really makes a huge difference with this car.

All the cosmetic touches you have to the car are purely personal.

Don't listen to any of us. It's your car, and you've spec'd it the way your heart is desiring.

Aside from things like the Front Axle Lift and Extended Range Fuel Tank, which I consider must-haves, everything else is negotiable.

Yes, even the LWB. Cuz, you know what? They don't fit everyone. And if they don't fit you, and you use your car primarily as a DD, then you're going to hate life.

And if you track the car, the LWB need additional aftermarket hardware, some dexterous handywork with the a big pair of scissors to fit a 6-point harness. So, there's that too.

In any event, you've got the one option I wish I had. ED.

Enjoy the car, and the trip. Post pics when you return.

Thank you all! I thought I couldn't get full leather with buckets, my mistake. Will look at that again. Not sure why PCM and Sound Package is not listed, since it was on what I sent my dealer. I love the auto-dimming feature on my current car, get easily bothered by bright lights behind me. Don't need the rain sensor but in true Porsche fashion can't separate them.

Pedals, I was worried about slipping but sounds like that isn't an issue. Voice control - heard that was good but didn't feel like paying for it since I use Waze for almost every nav task.

Question re: Euro delivery for those who know - I have to pay the VAT deposit up front then get it back when?

Approximately 2-3 months upon your return to the US.

Front axel lift is a must unless roads are perfect.
