I'd take a a 458/speciale over this anyday.
He doesn't want to disapppoint the Facist at Ferrari or they won't let him near the factory again?

And we are all still waiting to see a Ring Time in the LaLaFerrari driven by a professional race car driver and not necessarily backed up by the Ferrari Factory Contingent who would put special, specific, throttle and fuel mappings onto the ECU to optimise.

People, I was joking! The one thing I hate most about Ferrari is how much they are not driven and everyone expects this in the when buying. Makes selling a driven car a PITA.

Not interested in a turbo 488. Like the hood and bumper but prefer the 458 for everything else. Turbo will not sound as good as the 458. Just extended factory warranty for 2 years on my 458. Going to keep driving it and enjoying the experience. I hope lots of speciale owners disagree with me and trade their 1,000-mile cars in for the 488 so speciale prices start falling.

Good luck. Last naturally aspirated, mid-engine, track-focused Ferrari. Maybe when 488 Speciale or whatever it's called arrives we'll see a few more 458 Speciales hit the market, but wouldn't expect a fire sale anytime soon.

I think there is a large number of Ferrari buyers that have to have the latest and greatest. So we'll see the number of speciales for sale increase throughout 2016. Time will tell.

Yup and the value on the 458 go down.

Someone mentioned that most collectors want the cars they purchase to have as little miles as possible. But dammit when is the owner to enjoy the car they bought? If I had a modern Ferrari I would put 10K miles a year on it. But they don't build them to drive them like Porsche does!

Further i'm not saying this is the only reason people won't want a 488 but to say the car's sound won't sound like they want it too. Like a real non turbo charged Ferrari thus this is the hair splitting that goes on that determines purchase? Let us not forget the 288 GTO and F40 were both Turbo Charged. Would anyone here turn their back's on owning such cars? And an asides the GTO is worth more than the F40. And I know not too many people who would pass up on either car if given the chance to have one... For free and not paying and without any duty.

And Bravo to those who put 10K kilometers or miles a year on their Ferrari's - even though 10K Kilometers is about 6,100 miles. But still that is enjoying your investment.

I know it is a personal thing....but I do not think the 488 sounds good at all. The 458 sounds much much better to me. It troubles me that reviewers constantly rave about the latest automobiles, I find Chris Harris to be wonderfully entertaining and informative however I find that you need to take the reviews with a grain of salt. If they continually give brutally honest reviews I am sure the car manufacturers would think twice before handing over the keys to someone who may not post a favorable review.

Who do you go through for your insurance on your Performance cars? And how many miles can you drive on your car for the "Pleasure Use" per annum?

Liberty Mutual. Allowed 6,000 miles per year. I have all my lines of insurance with them since 1989.
