Lava Orange vs Ultraviolet
I have a couple of color plates for a few days and am snapping pics in various locations to get a better sense of the colors. The pics posted here most closely resemble the actual color that I saw when taking the pic.
Some general comments:
Lava Orange really pops and is very orange in direct sunlight. In the shade you can pick up hints of brown tone. I was never able to get any of the salmon color that's showed up in some photos nor does it ever look dull or faded as also seen in some photos.
Ultraviolet comes across as the more conservative of the two colors in all but direct sunlight, where purple overtakes the bluish tones that come out in anything but direct sunlight.
Both colors are great and you can't go wrong with either. Both colors present a wide range hues/brightness depending on the light. I'll try to get some photos towards dusk.
First 4 photos are in garage on white car.
5th photo is facing directly into full sun.
6th & 7th photo are laying flat in full sun w/water.
8th & 9th photo are outdoor shade but with lots of light.
10th photo is indoor with natural outside light.

I had the panels next to a GR turbo inside of the dealership and was underwhelmed by them both. The red really popped to my eyes, others were slightly duller in tone.

I have seen these plates and to me neither color is inspiring. To each their own.

I saw both color plates at my dealer this past weekend. When UV was first shown in photos, I thought it was terrible. It is now my choice of the four offerings. I like it so much I wouldn't be that disappointed if my PTS color doesn't come through. I didn't like LO much at all. I'd take white or GT over LO.

I'll chime in for fun and it's just my 2 cents, that is all
I think Porsche chose the wrong orange, LO is great but no where near as great as RS Orange in terms of pop but I understand why they probably didn't want to do it again and again. UV is a stunner but for me it would be too short term. Then again most guys only drive them a year Ha. But it is stunning. I think some of you might be underestimating white on the RS. With the proper amount of black accents it's going to look the business. All business. I'm partial to the motorsports color. Shame on Porsche for a fairly blah and limited stock color choice. Best thing about this issue? I don't have to decide.
