The GT3 allocation in Europe sold out last year so for the last 6 months I have been on the lookout for a low mileage car but those that are available are going for close to, if not over, MSRP.

Then on Tuesday I got a note from my SA telling me that they had received a surprise notice from the Porsche factory that they would be building a small additional run of GT3s later this year and that these would be the last batch of 991 GT3s built before the 991.2 GT3 comes along sometime in 2017. His dealership had been allocated one of these cars and would I like it. It took me all of 3 seconds to say YES!

My config is:
• White
- 90 litre tank
• Full leather interior in black, seats in leather / Alcantara, in comb. with stitching in red
• Automatically dimming interior / exterior mirrors with integrated rain sensor
• LED headlights in black incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (+ PDLS) Exclusive
• Front axle lifting system
• Heated front
• Cruise control
• Cargo passenger footwell
• Preparation for VTS (Vehicle Tracking System)
• Carpets
• Electrically adjustable adaptive sports seats Plus (18-ways), incl. Memory Package
• Interior package in carbon fiber
• Center console in carbon
• Sound Package Plus
• GSM phone preparation (Bluetooth®) (HFP)
• Sport Chrono Package incl. Porsche Track Precision App and preparation for laptrigger
• Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation module and universal audio interface

I won't have the build slot confirmed until late August with a delivery later this year…hopefully. I can't wait.

Congrats! Any consideration to the extended range fuel tank? I'm really liking mine...

Congrats, good things do come to those who wait. Why didn't you get the bucket seats? Were they not available? Get the extended gas tank!

Yes I should have listed that as I have spec'ed the 90 litre tank which will cost the equivalent of USD $160 to fill in Europe….ouch...

Extended fuel tank! Whether you fill it once or the small one more frequently the gas cost will be the same in the aggregate but with less stops in the gas station.

Yes, I can do the math ....I am just exaggerating the cost of the fill.

I'm confused. Your dealer has an allocation for you but it won't be confirmed until August?

Probably not available - there are restrictions on buckets at this point in time (at least for the 918 style buckets)

Very strange this late GT3 allocation, because 991 GT3 is EURO5 and normally cannot be sold after 1st September 2015 in Europe

Correct, the dealer has received notice that they are getting one allocation but they will not know until mid-August when that build slot will be scheduled.

Buckets are available but I decided not to order them. I will only track the car a maximum 4-5 days a year. The rest of time it will be driven on the normal roads so for me, the 18-ways are better for the street and will suffice for the track. And, my wife prefers the 18ways as a passenger.
