I haven't heard of any significant problems with the 991 lift. What has gone wrong with yours?

ahhh. is that what that is?

glad to see someone else has had it...

for me it sounds like a creaking/scraping noise...usually when backing up with the wheel almost cranked.

so is it serious? should i have them look at it? vehicle is already going in at the end of the week for rattles from the rear.

The "driving over acorns when the wheel is turned hard at slow speeds" feature is well documented and nothing to worry about. Search on rennlist and you'll find numerous posts about it.

The scuffing of the tire on the ground and the groaning sound from the front suspension during slow tight turns are two different things but they do have in common that they seem to be pretty much universal and not something to be concerned about.

Same here. Over a year and no issues; the lift works great.

Thank you - that describes what I had with my car; not sure why I was told they replaced the concave washer, but it was the component that restrains the top of the spring in the photo.

Not sure about the software upgrade but there is a service bulletin for checking some bolts/nuts based on FAL and VIN number. Car is ok to drive. Have my appt June 17. Should take 1-11/2 hrs according to service mgr.

Shahano 06-04-2015 03:07 AM

I am using my lift more than twice every time I drive the car. Impossible to live without lift for me.

Thanks for covering my back Mike! I would have been a day late and a dollar short on that post! :)

I use my lift every time I drive the car and have had 0 issues. It works great for me.

RUF RS 06-04-2015 10:45 AM

Mine failed miserably and took over a month to fix about a month after I took delivery. After that, (part delays, ETC.) it has worked GREAT.

Shahano 06-04-2015 02:53 PM

So what is this software upgrade about?

90944 06-05-2015 07:57 AM

I called the dealer today and he said that although the letter referred to a software upgrade, in fact, it is a standard letter and there is no software upgrade - just some work to be done tightening and checking the torque on the upper strut bolts and the lift mechanism. Will take 1.5 hours. Is booked for next Friday so if I get more details I will let everyone know.

seapar 06-05-2015 08:35 AM

Agree with ^. Mine is booked for June 16th. I have no issues with my lift which I use several times daily.

RFGGT3 06-08-2015 01:22 PM

Not a software issue. My tech. at Suncoast this AM showed me the nuts on the hydraulic lines to the lift struts and said they needed to be tightened. That was the reason for the notification.

bigkraig 06-08-2015 07:27 PM

My noise was the air line vibrating against the body, all fixed up
