what is the software update for? Does anyone have an idea?

I will give the dealer that sent me the letter a call tomorrow to find out more about it - and will post on here what they say about it.

ahhh. is that what that is?

glad to see someone else has had it...

for me it sounds like a creaking/scraping noise...usually when backing up with the wheel almost cranked.

so is it serious? should i have them look at it? vehicle is already going in at the end of the week for rattles from the rear.

The "driving over acorns when the wheel is turned hard at slow speeds" feature is well documented and nothing to worry about. Search on rennlist and you'll find numerous posts about it.

Software update has to do with the front axle lift according to service manager at Suncoast.

bigkraig 06-03-2015 11:05 AM

Perfect! Mine has started to make a weird noise.

KINGSRULE 06-03-2015 01:29 PM

There was a recall on the lift to tighten fittings a few months ago.
Are you sure he isn't getting the software update and this recall confused?

RFGGT3 06-03-2015 01:46 PM

Car is going in Mon. AM for this weekends post track check up. I'll follow up with more detail.

Have you other guys heard about this? I've got a 2015 with lift. Should I bring it in? Mine seems to work ok--pretty silent when lifted, and sounds like a whiplash when lowered.

Loess 06-03-2015 03:19 PM

Mine was in a couple weeks ago and they did some recall/tightening of the front lift. It seems a little quieter now. It worked fine before but it seems to work a little better now although it could be in my head.

I think there is a service notice for the possible missing pdk sport button as well.

Shahano 06-03-2015 03:47 PM

anyone know for sure what this software update is for? My car arrived 1 week ago, and they didnt tell me of any recall.

SamFromTX 06-03-2015 05:23 PM

I asked and was told the only software update available now is for the XM satellite radio. Take it FWIW

Lift on both 997 and 991 has been such a disaster!

Just in time 06-03-2015 08:00 PM

My lift works fine. No sounds/noises whatsoever.
