personally I think if you pay 26k for a paint color you should be allowed to stipulate you're the only one with that color for that model. whats this?

Probably 'Sepia'. Early 911 vintage color. Actually, a pretty nice hue in person!

Sepia, another example of an interesting color that works on a vintage 911, but not on a modern one...

As of 2017 there was NO extra cost associated with the feasibility request of a new color. Arrow Blue was never tested by PAG on the 991 Body until last year. During my request I was explicitly told that there is no extra cost directly transferred to the customer. I have seen the final cost of at least one Arrow Blue PTS car, and it is the typical $12k PTS cost. Unless it was JUST implemented, this $26K idea is a myth for the 911 body.

Now what may have been confused is the PTS process for the 918 cars. To my understanding 918 PTS colors had a different submission process and an assortment of price structures depending on the color.

Yes - the charge for feasibility testing was just recently implemented.

They were great to deal with on my .1GT3 as it was MSRP. On the .2 they wouldn't tell me anything but "market value" so I moved on from them and found my .2 GT3. You must be a VIP or very lucky to get an allocation from them early in the process.
