I broke mine in according to the book. No smoking on start ups and mental peace. No sense in giving Porsche a reason to claim "abuse" in case of a large warranty claim, besides I do keep my cars for the long haul. Would u buy a car that has been broken in according to book or one that went "9k after 9k feet?"

Took care to break in properly by respect for the car. Stayed scrupulously within 4'000 Rpm for 2'500 Km. Then, gradually increasing to 5'000 Rpm and above during the following 500 Km. Reached the limiter once around 2'700 Km. I admit it was sometimes difficult not to exceed 4'000 Rpm due to the condition of the trafic and lack of concentration. Therefore, I may have briefly hit 5'000 Rpm 6-7 times by mistake. I recommend not to use the PDK Sport button as it is not possible to control the gear changes and the revs. Manual operations while breaking in is the best way.
