Allan,

I actually saw 2 white RS's, but one was still in a box (see pic). The other was outside and I snapped a pic through the window. Too far away for me to notice detail, unfortunately.

I simply asked if I could take photos and they said yes. I hope I'm not out of line posting some here. You have me slightly worried now that I might be breaking protocol, Mike.

Sounds like a great visit!

Yes, Dieter showed me around the incredible treasure trove. What a wealth of knowledge Dieter has; he's my new hero!

I'm definitely going to schedule a return trip that's not work-related; I need to spend more time there.

Vivian.

^re white RS: looks to me like a Euro bumper (wider license plate recess), so this one may not be headed to the US. (??)

Vivian, did you arrange the archives tour in advance, or was this something you were able to do once you showed up at the factory? I'm sure that would have been a huge highlight to see!

Thanks again for the photos!!

Hi Daniel.

The concert promoter here set up the private tour for me. To be honest, I wasn't expecting it at all, I just thought they might have someone escort me around the museum, so I was shocked that they actually opened up the vaults and let me look at all the incredible hand-written notes and ledgers. It's truly staggering the way they have it all organised and I feel very privileged to have been able to see it firsthand. Can't wait to go back!

Vivian.

Thanks for sharing, that's amazing. I never did get to the factory, but managed a tour of the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart...I must of taken over 200 pictures in that place.

Really excited about the new facility in Atlanta opening this summer..

Thanks for the reply, Vivian. When I visited in both 2009 and 2014 they were very specific about no pictures on the line but hey, I wouldn't worry if I were you. For whatever reason you were given permission so all's well and we got to share in the result!

Thanks for sharing. I visited Porsche museum few weeks back and regretted not doing the factory tour. I guess I now have an excuse to make another trip to Stuttgart.

So true, I've already been three times and I can't wait to go again!
Make sure to visit the Mercedes Benz museum too. Stunning!

Thanks again for sharing.
