RS Lightweight battery (Li-Ion)
How long will this battery last ? I expect 5 years out of the agm or lead acid batteries....kept on a maintainer when car not in use.

I don't know the specific time frame but in the past Porsche has advertised that the Lithium-ion battery offers a longer service life than a conventional lead acid battery.

the 1st gen lasted about 4 years. Really important that you take care of it. Keep it on a trickle charger if you don't drive every week. I'd imagine that the 2nd gen unit is much better, but still worth keeping care of it.

Yeah, it's pretty much impossible to justify on a service life to cost basis. If you want a Li-Ion battery, it's got to be because you think losing the 30 pounds or so is worth it and/or that it's just cool.

A braille is $1500 for a 12lb battery. It's what I replaced my OEM lithium battery with.

yes...lighter is usually never cheaper when it comes to performance cars.

A few years back I bought a 6 lb, 12Ah, 600CCA Lithium battery from FalconEV. As you can see in the picture, it isn't fancy at all, but it freaking ROCKS! $500 shipped with mounting plate.
Now, this battery lives in my GT3 Cup which has an effective cut off switch. But I have never had this battery on a trickle charger and the car has sat for months at a time. It spins the motor just fine after months off. This is one of the many advantages to Lithium. I don't see any reason not to put this battery into a street GT3, other than its appearance is a bit different.
If for some reason the battery needs charging, this particular battery does need a special balancing charger. I don't fully understand the reason for that since the alternator charges it just fine.
My experience with this battery suggests to me that there is a LOT of margin in the Braille version, not to mention the OEM one.... (Surprise!)

Three Wheelin'
When the 991 GT3 was released, the details AP gave on the rear wheel steering showed it was a huge drain on the electrical system, ergo the big AGM battery to provide the instant high amps.
What did they do different with the RS?
