Default What Did You Do To Your GT3 Today?

Hey guys, thought I'd start this thread where you can post random stuff you've done to or with your ride. Could be a neat place for ideas of what others are doing...

I ordered 4L of Mobil1 0W-40 for feeding this beast. It needs 0.5L oil injection with every second tank of petrol.

Also scheduled a whole day on track with excellent instructor next weekend. There will be instructor, friend of mine with his GT3 and me with mine. Looking forward for getting smarter.

Are these the cup tires on your car? Or do you have winter tires installed. Mark

I took mine to the car wash today considering we're not supposed to wash cars at home now due to drought...
Weird weather calls for rain tomorrow, so the old Bimmer is getting warmed up tomorrow..

Cups. Spring here still means morning at or below freezing temps with occasional wet snow days. If you drive like a granny, the cups aren't bad in the cold. The snow was wet so just light slush on the road. If it started to accumulate on the roads I'd have been done for. Brother in law borrowing my truck, otherwise I would not have been so brave!

Got me thinking if lots of negative camber helps with hydro-planing...

I hear you. I grew up in Ontario so I am well aware of the wonderful spring. The cups are really useless in these cold wet, slushy conditions. I am glad you made it back safely to your home.

As for the negative camber I am not really sure it helps with hydroplaning. I heard this argument before where some think because of the tire smaller print as it sits on outter edge, it can slice through water easier. Not sure if any of these theories or speculations have any merits. Hydroplaning resistance is mainly a tire function & it's design and I guess the camber may effect it ever slightly but I would think it is a negligible effect. You would have a better shot of getting improved hydroplaning resistance with higher tire pressures for a given tire than any other adjustment. Mark
