Default Oil consumption at Track

Anyone experiencing significant oil consumption at the track - much more than daily driving?

I have to add a quart after about 3 sessions (60 - 75 minutes).

Think it's been covered in some other threads but yes that sounds about normal. Last Friday I added about 600ml after a total of about 100 min but not driving hard for the first 30min or so.

I did (4) 30-minute sessions at Laguna and didn't have to add any oil. I forgot to check it before and after, though, unfortunately. At Thunderhill this weekend I'll get some readings at the beginning and end of each day.

How close are you running to full? Remember it's a dry sump... Try keeping things on the lower side and see if you're still going through oil?

Never fill above 2nd level on indicator and couple of times had red light come on indicating immediate fill required,

This is a bit above average but certainly in normal range and especially if you don't have many miles on the car. It gets much better after 5000 miles. I am slightly above 10,000 miles and I have noticed that the oil consumption on both track and steert has gone down considerably. How many miles do you have on your car?

Four sessions at Mid-Ohio with MOR two weekends ago and didn't use any oil. I had a set of MPSS on and didn't really push the car that hard. The MPSS heated up in about 8 laps.

The car will consume oil until the valves are seated well , approx 1500 mi.
then it will need 1/4 QT about every average DE day running hard. You should keep the oil level in the middle of the green bar, not more than that, and check daily at the track.

It should get much better once you add couple of thousands miles. I would not worry much about your current oil consumption. Mark

Concur with 1/4 qt after 5 - 30 min. sessions running moderately hard. Car has 5800 total miles.
