Be interesting to see now will the special holds. The Scuds didn't. It's like the stock market "it will be different this time". If you are worried about depreciation get an RS or a GT3 at 140K or so and put the money in your pocket. The rule of thumb on Ferraris is 10 percent per year and $2 per mile. Any Porsche is much cheaper.

Slightly OT, but don't you guys think we getting close to "peak" street performance? After turbos in a Ferrari and the current McLarens, it seems straight HP and acceleration is hitting a plateau in terms of safe everyday use. Yes, all of these cars are great for the track, but I would guess that more 70% of them never see a track. It is all people that really want to buy and have these cars. If that is the case, at some point, the performance returns on the new model will be less than less than the previous.

Personally, driving a GT3 on the streets is already insane enough. A 458 would be similar. A 12C/650S is crazy. A 488? Posing can dangerous with that much power. I think the 458s will drop, but overall less than F430s and 360s....

The 458 is the best car in the world as far as I'm concerned. Although I may think differently when my F12 arrives.

You can't compare the two. 458 is just so awesome.

If you like very Germanic type cars...go RS...if you like a car that feels incredibly special get the 458.

RS is a pretty easy call - 458 will depreciate and RS might not.

As an FYI - at 2 local Ferrari dealers I can pick from 32 used 458s (2 Speciales), looking at 10 local Porsche dealers I can pick from 0 used RSs.

Ferrari dealer in my aera is organizing track days every year. I see more Ferrari owners take their cars to track. Not many Lambos. I know many Lambo owners. Most of them have no interest to take their cars to track.

F12 is insane. You don't want to turn traction off in a F12. It's scary.

Sometimes I feel my GT-R does not have enough power, but thats only when I am in remote areas. Around town it is more than enough power.
458 or RS is a great problem to have.

My 12 GTR is pretty much stock.I was at track with my friends. (mission raceway)
We were switching cars.
I drove a 991 Turbos and a turned GTR with JRZ PRO. I felt my GTR like a turtle compared to those 2. But handling are pretty much the same. The stock GTR shocks are pretty good.
991 TTs felt very soft but was the fastest.

991 TTS 1:12.5x
Turned GTR 1:13.8x
458 1:14.5x
My Gtr 1:15.6x

991 TTS is using Cup2 tires. 2nd track day on the set
Turned GTR with 19 RE30 wheels and R888. Also 2nd day on the tires.
458 is running Cup2 also. 4th track day on the set
My gtr is running stock dunlop Sport Maxx Summer tires. 5th track day. Got my R888 a day before the track day did't have time to put on.
With R888 should be able to drop around 1 sec.

Nice--F12 for the win.
(except for a 599 GTO-that is my dream car)
