Xpel Protection (Will it yellow over time)
As some of you have seen, my 991GT3 is going in next week to get her "condom". I was talking to a friend earlier today who said that most of the paint protection materials will yellow quickly & will show it especially on a white car. I have no experience with this product. Any thoughts from folks who have this product.
The caveat I will say is that this car will spend 99% of the time in the garage & won't see a lot of UV rays.

Yes it 'can' over time. But I've never kept a car longer than 120 days, so never cared.
Smart thing to get it done and the car is extremely low to the ground and prone to chips without it.
Enjoy your new beast.
PS - if your car is spending 99% of the time in the garage that will be a shame.

I was VERY nervous about this for my white car. After researching the films a bit, I went with Suntek (thinner film) and a full front wrap. Honestly I can't tell its there unless I go hunting for it. No yellowing yet, but it's only been a month or so.

I wouldn't stress about the yellowing. Here is a picture of my cars clear bra 4 that is 4 years old. It's older technology (3M) and you can see just a little yellowing on the front fender. Xpel will produce even less yellowing but there will be yellowing with any PPF/sun. White cars will show more yellow than other colors, but PPF is a must on the GT3. The key is to find a skilled installer.

I have 3M on my M5 which was purchased 10/2012, and the film still looks new no yellowing whatsoever. If you take care of it there will by no issues. Keep the car clean, and use a non abrasive cleaner no problems.

Xpel will not yellow. Maybe after 5 years and lots of sun exposure. If you keep the car clean and seal /wax it then you will be fine. If you do not care for it then you get what you put in

In hot climates they all yellow within 24 months.
The worst yellowing is the rear if you do a full wrap due to the extra engine heat.
Side muffler delete helps.
Either do only the most needed area's and replace often or do entire car so its less noticeable.
Unfortunately if you track often on rough tracks the entire car is most needed area.
Xpel yellows less and is self healing.

Everything yellows in time.

It becomes a matter of degree, i.e., how much yellowing are you willing to tolerate and/or notice. If you want your car condomized, then it'll yellow. And if you must have your car condomized, and yellowing bugs you, then just condomize the entire car. At least this way it's less noticeable.
This way, after a couple of years, if you bought a Carrara White Porsche, now you have a Pearl White Porsche.
