I just got on a wait list for an RS. Have mixed emotions on going to the RS vs just keeping the GT3. Hoping to see more reviews while I wait to see if the allocation will come through. Seems like the dealer anticipates getting at least one more.

Will you take delivery when it arrives? I read on the GT4 board where a VIP (918) car is being sold to others at delivery, but the cars are showroomed for 6 months to avoid losing VIP status. We'll see a few RS's under the same situation no doubt.

The way it has been explained to me is that the only car you have to keep is the 918 to maintain VIP status.

I do not have a 918 spot, I think they are doing a batch of A-1 Black cars at the same time. My original build date with white or Lava Orange was November. Now with the PTS Black moved up to July

I have two orders sitting in V070 / Order Demand status. Patiently waiting for allocations.
Instead, 918 VIP's who aren't true Porsche enthusiasts just grab them because they're convenient, even though they don't truly want them. We knew this would happen; it's human nature. Still, it goes against the spirit of the 918 Spyder VIP Allocations program (and this is obvious, considering the "lockup" period).
I really should've just stupidly grabbed one or two 918's and mothballed them. (Before anyone asks / objects / trolls me, the 918 is truly epic, I drove in on the road, extensively, and on the track. It's a fantastic achievement. It just wasn't the car for me, and thus I passed. Felt idiotic for me to buy such an expensive car for the sole purpose of securing allocations.)
The fact that I had to say that, makes me very sad about what's happening to Porsche loyalists / fans / collectors / enthusiasts.

Yea us "true" enthusiasts know how much the VIP program sucks yada yada....
I think the fact that simply changing my order to a PTS Black has moved up production 3-4 months????? anyone ever heard of this before? I thought it would delay production not speed up

Seriously though I'd guess you're right that they are building some black cars already for VIPs or someone so it's easier to move a few builds around.
