Nate- you are actually making the case for higher volume production- the GT3 is pushing record levels for a GT Porsche and no doubt as you say, the profit levels now that things have stabilized post stop sale are rising. The RS really should fall in the same basic production process with a few bits that are different, body, crank etc- but basic assembly relatively similar. I think what we are seeing is a ramp up to normal production next year as suppliers work out kinks and the supply chain gets ramped up. Special tires, carbon parts, engine parts- all need to go through production first article process checks, and then regular production can begin. Small lots to get that done will take the first few months on a car where total volume will probably be around 2500 units world wide. The LWB seats are a perfect example of why they want to wait to ramp up production.

on the 10 week LWB delay. There are a lot a people still waiting to see if they get an allocation...and they aren't waiting for some special purdy garage queen color either

Take for example the carbon fiber fenders with the fender vents. Laying carbon fiber is complicated and slower than producing the existing fenders, raw material costs are even $20/kg vs $1/kg for steel. You're making a call between higher failure rates and slower through put to try to get it just right.

Still at V200 and color in system was still listed as white but locked with PCNA via email as Black PTS. I have no idea what is up but I've been bugging the guys at the shop too much and I'm just going to roll with it and let this stuff take care of itself for the next few months.

Just got an e-mail my pickup date in Zuffenhausen changed changed from Sept 25th to October 16th.
Guess I just go drink beer the last week in September, maybe see the first snow fall

3 weeks is better than 10, I'm now hoping for delivery in 1st week of Jan and trailer her to Sebring for the PBOC winterfest.....ever been?

FWIW LEB and PCCB seems to be the items that delay cars at the moment. I cant do without LWB..
My hopes of driving it in Europe for 4000 miles than ship it before the big Sebring events are vanishing.
