Yes, and it weights like an M3 E92. In my opinion it's too heavy.

I have actually considered this for my daily. I think Ford will nail it with this one. Leaning more towards Golf R though. Not a big domestic guy at all. But this is the first domestic daily driver I have considered.

The Ford RS division make some good cars. I had a a 2002 Focus RS when I lived in Europe, that thing was pretty raw. The new 2017 version comes with a 6MT only I believe. It'll be a fun addition to any true enthusiast's garage, but if it weighs like an E92 M3 that's a shame for a car this size.

I thought this was a MY2017 for the US and they're focusing on Europe first? Fact it's made in Germany helps with getting over the Ford badge a little, but I'd still take the uglier Golf R over this. I still struggle to pull the trigger on the Golf. I had a pre-order but canceled it and can't decide what to get.

I think the hot-hatch arms race is great. Wish I could justify buying one. If VW gets serious about the Golf 400 or whatever it's called, I just might do it.
Saw the Focus RS at Geneva. Looks even more boy-racer in person. That piece of flat black plastic on the snout is really big, cheap, and cheesy-looking. Ford is clearly straddling the a Golf R and WRX STI markets, and smart to do so. What I found more interesting was the Focus ST wagon. I like a fast wagon...my dog, not so much.

You might like a Global Rallycross car rather than a World Rally Championship car.
0-60mph for GRC cars is often about 1.7-1.9 secs on gravel. Try that in your GT3 or even Turbo S PDK.
They are kind of like the Group B cars of the 80's as far as torque/bhp. They are quite stout, too, as car-on-car action and long jumps are part and parcel of the sport.

I've never owned a "hot hatch" not even when I was a kid and supposed to own one. The specs are great, 315 for a 4 cyl is amazing. AWD makes it the new Subaru Impreza.
Meh, I'm too old for it.
Dan (thinks at his age, even buying the GT3 was close to buying a kid car when AMG SL 63 was the other option)
