Default Dealer Survey

I did a quick search and nothing really stood out, but how important are the dealer surveys? I have not received mine yet. The salesman and manager continually referenced it throughout the purchase process.

I do not wish to get my salesman into any trouble (I believe he was only acting on what his supervisors were pushing), but there were a couple aspects that I was not very happy with and would like to bring to light with corporate.

I believe it's VERY important to both the dealer in general and the salesman himself. My salesman told me anything negative could affect his pay, bonus, etc. Pretty sure it could even affect future allocations. Especially on the "specialty" cars.

I've always been honest on mine unless the issue was resolved in person. Had a dreadful experience at The Auto Gallery in Woodland Hills and won't be giving them anymore business so no reason to hold back if they din't make things right.

It is very important that they get 5/5 or 10/10 or whatever the max points are. If you have an issue, try to resolve it offline so you can give them full marks. If push comes to shove, let them know you intend to mark them down because of it and give them a last chance to make things right before doing so.

Well for what it's worth I just bought a Durango and the dealer told me anything below an 8/10 is pretty much a zero....they said the survey is very important....

The grading system is clearly a joke, if 8/10 is considered like a zero then there is no way this feedback will improve anything. There's bad, avg and good dealers and they should be held accountable rather than strong arming their way to 10s.

i have my car now for 4 months and never received a survey , I think because they knew i was pretty upset with their last minute BS that they threw at me that ruined the first day of ownership . I did not write about it on the forum because I just wanted to forget the whole thing. Though, talking to my brother who is a service adviser for another company, he told me that some employees at dealerships, can go and change contact info for some customers in the computer system if they know that customer is not happy so they never get the survey.

If they charge over msrp....the dealer should get a poor rating...

Surveys are DO OR DIE for the salesman. Questions are asked that have nothing to do with your SA. Must be PERFECT scores or the SA goes down in flames.

My dealer still calls me once a month to see if I need anything, and yes they are important.

If you want any future relationship with them, you need to give them all perfect scores. If you need the future relationship but something isn't right, I suggest reaching out to discuss with them in person to your satisfaction.

If you had a bad experience and don't value the relationship at all, then be 100% honest on the survey (it's your only opportunity to make it right for others in the future).
