Only 65k over?

Someone needs to jump on this now. Like yesterday now.

Yeah, it's still around gathering dust. When it gets as valuable as a '73 RS and if they are still selling gasoline I will probably let it go then.

US (Dealer) Franchise Laws prevent PCNA from really doing anything severe. All they can do is withhold future allocations.

My dealer literally laughed me off the phone, quoted $50K over "IF I CAN EVEN GET YOU AN ALLOCATION...."

I lost interest quickly. Never pay over sticker....for a depreciating asset.

If consistently applied, that is actually very significant. Reduced allocations kill the entire incentive of selling a car over list, and dealers don't want to be on Porsche's bad side when GT3s or even Macans get passed out. The reality is that Porsche elects to look the other way, not that they are powerless to do anything.

Why do you refer to them as "your" dealer then? Clearly they don't care about your business.

You should've laughed them off the phone.

Perhaps the good dealers should be listed in the first post of this thread for easy perusal. Its unlikely that someone will be able to snag one of the first couple allocations this late in the game, but fair dealerships should be recognized.

This removes the incentive to move as many of a specific model as possible. Dealers that sell the most Cayman cars were rewarded with higher numbers of GT4 allocations, similar to dealers that sell the most 911s were rewarded the most RSs. PAG and PCNA make more on a Turbo S than any other car, you want incentives for people to sell these through more rare car allocations.

It really doesn't hurt Porsche at all when a dealer sells it above MSRP, if anything it helps build a story about the car - look at all the threads on here.

My dealer is selling me my RS at MSRP, but I also paid their asking price on 3 other cars purchased off them since July - so am I getting the RS at MSRP or above? I could easily argue above, but I'm a local repeat customer and I value their relationship more than saving a few thousand on a car and don't cross shop them at all. They're arguably just treating me with the same respect.

Manhattan Motorcars is asking $60k over!! This is rediculous... Not worth $260k or $100k more than a GT3 imho

Default Faith Restored in the Brand

My dealer had a change of heart and decided to sell me the car at MSRP.

I placed my order today.

Great. Glad your dealer came around to offer the car at the right price. Question for you. Why did you spec the car with the smokers package? I ask because I have a non-smoking friend who did the same for an extra power outlet. I haven't looked at the inside of the 991 up close other than a cup car which is the reason I am asking.
