Thumbs up Finally got a 991 GT3

We got the black GT3 from Champion on friday and I spent the entire weekend trying to put miles on it to get 2,000 so that I can get past the break in period because I have a track day on saturday of this week (already at 1640 miles). So far I have only gone above 4K 4 times. 3 at 5k and once at 6k. Is that alright as I have heard these engines are bulletproof. I do not really have the time to get the remaining miles on the car during the week. Is it fine if I take the car on track with around 1800 miles or should I try to drive a little at night to get to the 2,000 mark. Thanks guys.

Congrats on the car!!! It's already broken in with that amount of miles, so start exercising it. At the factory they tell you 1000km, vary the RPM, engine brake the car, don't hold the throttle at a high RPM for any period of time.

Default You've done it!!!

You are good to go now.

I would now take it regularly up to 7k for next 50 miles then regularly up to 8k for a further 50 then BOOT it to 9k.

Job done

I dropped the oil on mine at 2K miles and there was plenty of particulate so for peace of mind you may want to do that even though Porsche and many people will say its not needed, I am happy every time i see 9k on the rev counter that I did it

Do yourself a favor and photoshop out the license plate number. You never know who lurks on these forums.

I never understood why you would need to hide your license plate number. Anyone can see it when your car is parked or driving. What could a person do with a license plate number? I'm sure there is a reasonable answer, I just don't know it.
Black gt3 looks great with red accents

It's completely pointless unless your doing something incriminating like street racing.
