An Introduction and Just Another White GT3...
Hello Everyone, I've interacted with many of you in anticipation of my GT3, but never made a formal introduction because I was waiting on my car.
I ordered my GT3 in September of 2014 and due to delays with the buckets and shipping, I didn't get it until Saturday.
I picked it up Saturday morning, had it clear-bra'd and then promptly put on 300 miles over the weekend.
In short, I love it. Sure, it's not as fast in a straight line as my full bolt-on GT-R, but man, this car has so much soul compared to it. The GT-R had soul, but the GT3 feels more connected, more fun, more put together, more balanced... I had never driven a GT3 before Saturday and when I did, I knew I made the right decision. I took it on a twisty highway right after the dealership and was just incredibly impressed by how fast it is (I wasn't going past 4.5k rpm), the amount of grip and how communicative it is.
This is my first Porsche ever, I've had a lot of other cars over the years, from M3's, M5's, GT-R's, etc., but never had a Porsche. I bought this car because I was sick of turbos, sick of AWD (even my DD is a turbo AWD car--a CLA45 AMG) and I honestly missed the high-revving S85 V10 from my E60 M5. The looks and luxury were just icing on the cake--you could have sold me this engine on a Macan and I would have bought it. The car did not disappoint. I can't wait for break-in to be done and to rev this to 9k (I'm doing a loosey goosey break-in but am for the most part being easy on it). I also can't wait to take it to the track.
I know you all have seen pics of white GT3's, but I just can't resist posting them:
I look forward to being part of the community.
