They get one allocation in each of the porsche models to be used in the next ten years. So, 1 911 variant, 1 Cayman variant, 1 Boxster variant, etc. Once they have used their special allocation for that particular model they don't get another. If they don't use an allocation for a model in the 10 years following their 918 delivery, it just goes away.

Just rec'd a call from a Multi-store East coast dealer.
"All RS' out the door are $30k+". Does not matter what the past buy relationship has been.
I told him to send my deposit back.
Also said "regular allocations s/b received in a week or two.
Sheeesh...

I have my commision # and status V70. My order is in their system. Allocation will be assigned to it just as soon as they get the allocation.

Bingo. A buddy is one of those 918 owners and is taking his.
The agreement is they must NOT resell for at least 6 months after taking delivery. Just FYI.
PS - He was told that US 918 allocations DO count again the total US allocations...who knows if that will be true or not.

My understanding is that they can not sell the 918 for 6 months or otherwise they lose the VIP program. Not sure that restriction applies to their extra cars, eg RS, etc

Allocations
I put my deposit down on 11/22/13 and my dealer tells me I am #1 on their list for a GT3RS. I spoke with him today and he said still not out, but I will be the first to know (from that dealer at least).

Once allocations for "the rest of us" are announced, how does one verify a dealership's allocations? I'm curious if there would be a way to verify what's told and if dealers hold any back for their own purchase despite a wait list started years ago. We hear stories of dealers who markup new models for market adjustments, so please forgive me if I'm not always trusting of such a powerful industry that can make "direct consumer sales models" illegal in some states.
