Problem in Austin too much laser and these things really don't pick it up. Shifters are illegal, so not much to do anymore. Bought a new Passport and it's worthless. Pass the same guy all the time w/laser and not a peep.

You're likely getting weak K band signals from lane change warning systems on other cars. There's quite a bit of info on the V1 web site about this. One thing you can do is to disable the POP feature which is designed to combat one particular kind of burst radar and seems to make the unit more sensitive to those weak signals. See here:

Since your unit is new it should have another filtering feature enabled by the factory but maybe it isn't. See here:

The V1 has a lot of options; it pays to spend a little time investigating what it can do. Or, you can just chuck it in the glovebox...
