Odd oil measurement issue.

Odd oil measurement issue.
When I first picked up my car, the oil measurement seemed to be working correctly:
Oil warmed up to 190F (I think that was it), stopped and idling for a few minutes - then, I could measure the oil by clicking the "oil measurement" option in the menu.
Yesterday, I accidentally measured the oil while driving (was cycling through the menus while driving and clicked "oil measurement" when I meant to click something else). Anyway, when you do this, you should get an "oil measurement not possible" warning or something like that.
This "measurement not possible" message comes if you try to measure your oil level while moving or the oil not warm enough or you have not been idling long enough.
So, I clicked the oil measurement while driving and it gave me a level - NOT the warning message.
Hmmm - that's not right.
This morning, when I first started the car (blue cold engine warning was still on and the oil temp was 81F) and started driving, I check it again and it gave me a level.
Obviously something is not right - has anybody seen this weird behavior before?

Mine does it all the time.
It's 'normal'. Did you open the engine bay or oil fluid cap?
So, I just spoke to my salesman who was a tech prior to being in sales.
He said if you can measure the level with cold oil or when moving, the car is using a stored value and that level is not accurate.
He told me to start the car, open the rear deck lid and then close it while the car is running.
That seems to have reset it and I can now get the proper "oil level not possible" or whatever it says.
I'm assuming now, when I get to proper temp and idling time, I will be able to get a real measurement.
This oil level thing is the biggest pain in the ***. One of my only complaints about the car.
I WANT A DIPSTICK. So stupid not to have one.

One other caveat is that you need to wait 90~120 seconds with the oil level display showing after topping off the oil. I topped mine off yesterday and was surprised how long it took to register the added oil.

Our oil "dipstick" is like a supermodel during that time of the month ...

If you are plugged into PIWIS it waits for some odd number like 106 seconds before it will read the level after adding oil.
