I know I may catch a lot of crap for this statement but it is just how I feel. But do not get me wrong; I am sure/certain this is going to be an awesome car but I was thinking a bigger leap over the GT3 would of been delivered.
Theres going to be stretch for many to pay more for a car thats more track focused, the leap above the regular GT3 is not that much, so I believe the flippers scalpers and the buy any "shiny new thing" people will go away, as for supply, Im wondering how many Porsche will build/import? i'm presuming they have to crash test for new roof and hood, they have to make that cost up by selling more cars or raising price or both.

I'm predicting that given the specs, the price increase cant be too large, and that volume will make the profit on this car. I also believe/feel that Porsche should build as many as the market will bear because this car and the regular GT3 speaks to those of us who love this company/car.

Its like the Dodge Hellcat situation now, does anyone believe you wont get a MSRP Hellcat if you wait, and even Dodge is making efforts to keep dealers at MSRP, its a franchise not ebay

i'm from Houston
when i looked to buy my GT3
i contact the local dealers , they didn't had any available
and they told me their is a list of waiting.

i found it at Porsche of Beverly Hills.

now i contact them to ask about the GT3RS , they told me $40K over MSRP.

i contact Houston dealer and this is the email i got:
"Thanks for your inquiry about the availability of the new 991 GT3 RS. We still are in the dark about how many allocations we will receive or when the allocations will be released. We have most likely already received more commitments from our very good clients that want the car than we will ever be able to deliver"

it's look like it's too late to pre order , because many buyers did it already
and the dealers reserve them to their customers.

can i ask what is PTS ?

the limited edition models are GT2 / GT2RS?
and those will be impossible to find?

PTS = paint to sample. Not exactly the correct description, however, as you are still limited to a pallet that Porsche controls.

Why order now and not in September?

1 The car is not limited
2 Not the last NA RS (AP)
3 Not so different than current GT3
APART IN THE WIND GALLERY at 200mph

Leave the dealer alone with all their preallocated orders
the car will drop 40k down the msrp

Not So Off Topic Question:
991 GT3 due to some known issues have been produced in half
the planned numbers

Making it de facto a limited and instant classic version

Should i resell mine 40k 80k over the msrp??

You might be able to get the car in a more unique color like Mexico Blue or Birch Green - some of the classic/vintage Porsche 911 colors.

Porsche will charge you $5,500ish for it, but you will have a more unique car.

I'm told it won't be available in the early orders, but it might come available later on.

At least they are being honest.

Hate to think what they do for their not so very good clients who want to buy something.

Yes, patience will be rewarded. I can wait since I'll have a full track Cayman and an 997.2 RS as my weekend driver. Who knows, I may just pick up a GT4 to tide me over too.

The RS will drop $40k from MSRP by Sept? The opposite is more likely...
