One of the reasons the GT4 is a manual is because of the GT4 racing series and meeting homologation requirements.

It's the same manual gearbox they are putting into the 918.2.

It's what my cleaning lady told me. After being waterboarded, of course.

It would be odd to develop a MT for a limited production car like this. The GT4 is limited but they already have an MT for that engine.

I would love to hear in on the conversation. Let's make the 1rs the quickest baddest RS we have ever made! But wait, let's offer a manual so the 1.3 will be quicker than the RS MT!

At porsche, we like our cars fun, but we like our cars fast even more.......

It may not make sense, but I'd still choose it. Would lose ~66 pounds too

I still live in hope.

WR is a very straight shooter. Probably too straight- gives the PR guys headaches I'm sure. I heard a few things, not on this topic, I wish I could repeat, but can't in good conscience...

I do feel we have reason both to be hopeful and to be worried. And I'm more certain than ever that much of the flack AP got was wildly misplaced. $.02.

Ditto the above sentiments gents ; will I buy the RS with PDK and be happy I got one ? - of course , but I'd be way happier if it was a MT . I'll take a little slower for the pleasure .

I agree with all of the above. A manual would be sweet, although I have big doubts. Let's hope the cleaning lady was right.

GT4 only limits that it must be 6 speed max and not be a sequential. Automatic or semi-automatic can qualify, so PDK presumably would not affect GT4 compliance.

Well, since all PDK are 7 speed there is that potential conflict. But I think marketing had more to do with the decision.

Quick Reply: Rohrl also confirmed that, unlike the PDK-only GT3, the RS will offer a manual transm
