I'm all with him on that. I'm not a fan of the turboization. NA fan here. Lots of debate on the 991 boards about it.

"Street-non GT" 991.2's will be turbo no doubt later this year.

I agree rather have just one tanny choice. It was good for GT3 forced me as a MT diehard to try PDK and I'm happy with my GT4 order to have MT only no choices (cause I might have chosen PDK now lol!)

Correct. But back to my point...the GT4 is manual only because they didn't want to develop both. So again,it's " either or ". The GT3RS needs to be fastest because of the Ring marketing BS,so it will be PDK. Simple as that.

They just did it on the GT4.

Obviously there was a lot of bitching about only a PDK offering on the GT3.

A lot of guys prefer the manual connection a car gives regardless about the "faster" PDK. Track times come down to skill, PDK or not.
GT3's engine characteristics, for one, make PDK S the better transmission choice for this car in its present form. GT4 has a basic 9A1, which works well with a manual 6 speed. I don't believe the majority would want a 7 speed manual in the current GT3 given the way the engine revs and present gear ratios.

Makes sense with the so called limited run.

They said they will do PDK GT4 later possibly.

They needed to keep the 0-60 under the 991S too and give manual guys an option.

Agree - put all the development effort into optimizing around one tranny. Just disappointed on the GT4 they went with the stock Cayman S ratios. Would have rather than base Cayman Ratios or even better take some of the lower PDK Cayman ratios. (.e.g. 1.65 in 3rd vs 1.41 on the CS 6MT).

consider the PDK-S as a HP magnifier, its quicker shifts allow you to go faster and reduce acceleration times as if your car had more HP

BTW, both gearboxes will be offered and the manual may come out a bit later. Of course this is from the cleaning lady!

Interesting if true on such a limited production vehicle. Wonder if people will clamor for one version more than the other.

Well, I don't know what manual they would use, hopefully not the 7 speed G91/00. Has anyone seen the MECOSA mechanism (MEchanically COnverted Shift Actuator) system to convert PDK shift pattern to H pattern. I sure don't want one. Gordon

Quick Reply: Rohrl also confirmed that, unlike the PDK-only GT3, the RS will offer a manual transm
