Just got my invite.

What do you guys think of the price to bring a companion? Now that you see the itinerary do you think it's worth it?

I would say no way. Dinner, hotel, a couple van rides, a tour of their facility and a 'high performance sports car drive'. For $2700?!?!? I'm not sure it's even worth the air fare out there.

I believe (hope) that the charge of $2,700 for a companion applies only if your "companion" wants to use their cars and coaching services driving on their track on an equal basis to the primary participant.
If that charge applies to a non-driving companion / wife it would be outrageous for a few extra meals and
ruin much, if not ALL, of the good will the event produces for them among GT3 Owners.

I asked about what the charge would be for my wife to go to the dinner on the first night and to nothing else and was told for her to participate in any portion of the event would require us to pay the $2700 guest fee. Needless to say, we declined. I'm sure the dinner will be great, but not $2700 great. She's still coming to Atlanta with me since we had already booked our flights and are staying over an extra day.

I asked what the charge would be if my wife just stayed in the hotel room with me. Answer: $2700! C'mon Man! Really ? I could book another room for $350, and then let her come by my room for a visit! Like all night. Sure beats $2700. I'm not sure I understand this policy.

Jimmy good luck with your mysterious, but tentative good fortune - let me know if you end up booking it.
Sounds like most here are doing the 12th/13th but unfortunately ducking out of the office on a tue/wed is prob not in the cards for me.

Unbelievable! I'll just ask for one room key and hope for the best!

Id just bring her and not worry about it. How are they going to find out?

I'm still unsure on dates. Just had back surgery, so hopefully I can sit in the 911 by then, let alone endure a 5 hour flight.

You guys are missing Porsche's intent here- they are giving you a $2700 excuse NOT to bring your wife! They have made the cost so high, that she will invariably agree it isn't worth it and send you off to Atlanta solo.

I asked Megan also about a special parking area designated by the hotel possibly for those of us
who are driving into Atlanta and then on to the Smokies event. She also answered the room question.
My wife is going to do the whole event, so for me it doesn't matter. But I really don't see how they can
enforce this. Here is her email to me:

Hello Rob,

We spoke briefly today about whether or not someone could bring their spouse along with them but not attend the event.
I did inquire about this matter and the feedback that I received is any guest, whether they are coming
just to the hotel or attending the whole event, the guest fee must be paid.
I asked about parking at the hotel, I have not heard anything yet, but once I have I will let you know.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions or concerns.

Regards,
Megan Bartolomucci
