Not shocked. They asked the same of me 5 weeks ago--I laughed and took business elsewhere.

Welcome to shopping for a GT3 in CA.

Why crazy?

You do realize that MSRP stands for "Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price" right?

Just like you are entitled (and rightfully so) to ask and bargain for a price lower than MSRP, the reciprocal option is extant for the dealer (and rightfully so).

In reality, MSRP does not necessarily correspond to the price dealers actually charge, or to the price customers are willing to pay.

Good luck in your search. You'll find your unicorn soon enough.

Maybe consider sitting down with them, doing all the paperwork, getting right to the end of the process, only to halt it and say that on second thought you'll still take it if they do MSRP, otherwise you'll walk. :P

Not really, but fun to imagine...

I happen to agree...looking for a GT3 configured how you want it this late in the game is gonna be work - and expecting MSRP or a deal on a car that is critically loved and also a great seller, coupled with final run of production happening now, is not going to land you in the "driver's seat." I think if you have a great relationship with your dealer then maybe you get MSRP but just wandering in and expecting that price perhaps is unrealistic. I know my dealer gave MSRP to its customers, but people from out of market or not previous customers, who were maybe going to be servicing their cars elsewhere should not expect equal pricing. I don't have a problem with that, at all. Simple supply and demand. Final selling price will tell the story.

Just wait till after the RS coming out and all the GT3 owners start dumping their GT3s and you'll have your pick of the litter for well under MSRP.

really..? rs is even more limited, not like every current 991 gt3 owner can have an allocation. the same situation didn't happen with 997 gen gt3/rs too.

Let's hope so. Because the GT3s you're talking about (i.e., the ones GT3 owners dump for the RS) will be used. Not new.

MSRP is one of the things that a franchised dealer needs to stick to, otherwise why not just ebay every car?

There was a post that said that there were march allocations, surely you can find a dealer with a march allocation

Well in the end it's a business. I don't begrudge any dealer that thinks they can get any amount over. They are entitled to ask whatever they want. Whether we pay it or not is another story.

You're saying you were a first time Porsche buyer and you bought "way below" msrp?? Possible… yes. But not on a GT3.

It was a GT3.

But a 2014. With a new engine.

That's why you buy out of state. Rusnak is famous for this, especially in Pasadena. The white one right?
