Default GT3 vs Turbo s

I have the 991 GT3 and it is amazing in everyway. How does the Turbo s compare? i have read it is better as daily driver and quite a bit faster. Why is the Turbo not considered a track car? if both cars were on the same track with same driver which would turn out a better time and why?
thanks

turbo is heavier, softer, and 4wd. They are very, very fast on the straights. To make a turbo feel (close) to a gt3 will cost big, big $. And then you still have the weight. Daily turbo, track/weekend/canyon car gt3. If you want to see some insane turbo builds, you're local, go visit BBI Autosport. Massive power and ALL the suspension stuff done (usually with Ohlin TTX dampers).

Ring time for 991 TT S is 7:28 vs 7:25 for gt3. Part of the difference is the tires. However, on an autocross or a tight road coarse, the gt3 would outperform the turbo even more (relatively bigger difference in time). They are both great cars, but very different. I have driven the 991 TT and 991 TT S quite a bit, but the gt3 is a very different experience.

Turbo is definitely quicker on a fast track and gt3 is quicker on the technical track.

In a straight line, the turbo would destroy the gt3

At the 1/2 mile event I was at two weeks ago, I lined up against a tuned 991 Turbos S. He hit 161 mph and I did 149 mph. It felt like I was standing still. That being said, I still choose the GT3. At least my car sounded better.

Here's me trying to catch my friend John who's in the TTS at Barber. Notice how he pulls away in the straights!
The turbo is crazy fast but you can feel her weight. Takes some time to get used to after
Getting out of the GT3 and into the Turbo.

Everyone talks about performance - one thing not often considered but obviously significant when the time comes is safety.

A Turbo S is less likely to kill you.

I haven't driven/owned the 991TT ( I own a 991 GT3 ) but one factor that I know of is engagement. Everyone I have talked to that owns a TT is it gets boring. The GT3 is more raw but one thing is...The sound is amazing and you won't get that 9000 rpm scream from the TT.

Do you mean as a daily driver all year on stock tires in all conditions or on the track?
Because if you mean the first, I would agree.

I've owned both and will say the limits approach quickly in either. I guess I understand if we are talking about driving in less than favorable traction conditions however any of us driving these cars understands that when conditions deteriorate it's best to garage the GT3. Otherwise I would say either would get the job done effectively.

On a side note. I recently spent half a track day with the GT3 in the rain and gotta tell you. It was great fun.

Both fantastic in their own right as others have said but to me the difference between them can be summed up this way:

The TTS makes you feel like you're a better driver.

The GT3 makes you want to be a better driver.

I would be more inclined to buy the GT3 now that it has 475 horsies And in comparison to the old GT3 in price it's a great value.

They both can kill you.

For OP, as stated Turbo has some serious low end torque and is really, really fast.

However, the GT3 really is unique and you will hardly see one on the road. As mentioned the raw feel is what is amazing. 9k redline--come on. I have driven the TTs many times and several friends have/had them. Most end up selling because the fast factor does get boring, and I've been told--it's just another 911. That you cannot say about GT3.

Oh and two other factors: serious depreciation on TTs (factor for some) and $50k more. Again money aside, GT3 all day for me...and I voted with my wallet.
