Won't last long with the LWB's.

Remember - you don't see all that red while driving! Although staring at the red gauges and the stupid wart would get old.

I don't think not having the extended tank will hurt this car. Like everything it's personal preference.

The gas tank size is a preference. But I would prefer the extended size. 14 gallons in these gas guzzlers, especially for a DD, would mean filling her up every 3-4 days for me.

Thats one of the mistakes in my E60 M5. a V10 with a 15 gallon tank. Even my SCUD has a 25 gallon tank.

At a track like Mid-Ohio you could get in two, maybe three, thirty minute sessions before you'd have to gas up with the small tank and that would be a bit of an irritant. Cruising on the highway maybe three hours which I can live with. BTW, I have the small tank and wish I had gone for the extended tank.

That said it wouldn't be a show stopper for me on the car in question.

When I was looking in Dec there were several w/o extended range and for me that was a deal breaker. The less time I'm at the gas station the better. Point is some of these left over units have minor things that MAY be deal breakers for some (lift and XM were other two must haves--the rest was gravy). Everyone is different. Anyways, hope someone snapped up that GR unit.

The extended gas tank is only an advantage if u plan on using the car for long road trips. The regular tank is more than enough for track and regular use. P Of Orlando had a black one in mid decenber that sat there for about a week when the allocated guy backed out. These cars do not sit long in the showroom.

Without XM radio as a source, the sound system is useless to me.
No music on a daily driver is not workable.

Also LWB's are not anywhere near as comfortable or convenient (for me) on a daily driver. My 2011 Spyder has them. Love them on the track though.
Still if it had XM one could possibly trade LWB's for cash and Adaptive Seats.

I ordered mine specifically 'without' the extended tank for the reasons highlighted by bronson7.

I did not enjoy using my C4S as a daily driver because the suspension is too stiff. So my GT3 is just a weekend or track car. It would be an alternative car for my SCUD so I I dont need any radio or A/C. I have other cars to use a DD which are much more comfortable.

I need an extended tank because I have to drive 300 miles to have it serviced.
My M5 needs to stop to get gas, but my Scuderia does not as it has a 25 gallon tank. The only thing I wish it(scud) has is Cruise control.

I have the extended tank, would be just as happy without it. The lack of recalibration of the gas gauge with the extended tank is pretty silly.

I thought at one point there was a discussion that blamed right hand drive for the smaller tank. That the steering column interfered with the tank and a smaller tank had to be offered. I really wouldn't think weight would have been the consideration for the fuel tank. Just my thoughts. As was stated you can just fill up with the gas you will need to save the weight of that is what you want to do. Saw several people do that who brought their own gas with them and added some before each session.

My understanding is the extended tank is an option rather than standard so that the "base" model advertised curb weight of the car can be lower.

The sound quality of Xmas radio, the music stations on xm, is totally horrible. FM radio, sounds better....even better is the music on your phone. I can't listen to the warbling squashed highs and thin mids and lose bass of xm radio...ugh.

+1 my understanding as well. I would have thought anyone speccing a track specific car would opt for the smaller tank for the reason you mention.

Agree entirely. I detest XM's ever worsening sound quality and even worse customer service. By leaving it out I've saved myself all that frustration. I also get the roof wart free! I find some FM HD or Aha stations better for quality.
