Need some advice!
I've been toying around with the idea of selling my gt3 for a mclaren (I'm on the list for gt3rs) I've been offered 130 for my car(142 sticker).
1. I'm having second thoughts
2. Would I do better selling the car on my own. I hear that dealers are asking more for gt3 now.

Depending on the state you live in the amount you save on sales tax by trading in may make up the difference between the trade-in value of your GT3 and MSRP. In GA you only pay tax on the difference. This would likely make trading the GT3 in a better value. Are you looking at a 650?

Couple of questions:
1) Why are you selling GT3?
2) 650 or 12c? Either way, one of the WORST depreciating exotics on the market. Be VERY careful when buying a McLaren. Especially with their sub $200k unit coming later this year. I had a dealer offer me a 650 at $75k off just to move it off their lot (brand new). There are tons of Macs at the port just sitting there because dealers cannot take them. It's great you're on a list for RS--all of us are. You will lose your TAIL if you actually ever get a RS and trade that Mac.
3) That trade value is crap--sell it on your own, and find a dealer that will do an in/out to save the tax benefit.
4) What the hell are you thinking?

^ +1 - I had the opportunity to lease a brand new 12C for $2500 per month ($300k msrp), decided against it as I'm sure I can get a 650S for similar money in a few months when '16s start showing up.
Maybe add the Mac to the garage, but take one of the nice lease deals. GT3 will always cost you much less to own.
EDIT: Also SportsSeries launch coming at NYC autoshow in April, watch for it to hit 12C/650S values even more.

yea i was thinking about the p13 coming out affecting.
but i ask don't see 12c prices lowering much more to what they are right now.
especially with a cheaper car coming out.
I'm definitely not thinking new mclaren.
maybe its because I've always wanted to drive a mclaren.
im also worried about the resale of the gt3 once the rs is announced but i may be wrong

And yes, when Sports series comes out, I would expect even further deterioration across their model line (as 650 is literally stacked up in warehouses in UK right now).
As to GT3 value--it's not going anywhere fast because of RS. RS is going to be snapped up quickly and for those that are hard core track people. Trust me I'd take a minor hit on a GT3 over a HUGE hit on a McLaren. I mean you are talking $75-$100k hit...that is NOT appealing to me at all. Great car though.
