Porsche Factory Screw Up / Gap from Hood to Bumper

Try removing the black trim surrounding the hood latch, loosening the bolts a bit, pulling the bumper edge forward, and tightening again. You can see the holes where the screws are in this pic:
Good luck!

Another thought : With the hood being aluminum, when one needs to do the "emblem push" to lock it shut, the curve of the hood could be bent flatter, and this would close that gap. Denny's body shop will have a solution. Good luck and keep us posted.

This DIY is a great idea too. Isn't it funny that a dealer is clueless, yet this RL crowd can figure it out.

I have a little bit of this happening too, but sometimes I look at it and its normal.
I can push on the bumper to make it line up but when it springs back it sounds like its peeling off of something sticky. I assume there is some double sided tape or something in there that has given way. Not too big of a deal and if smashing a towel in there for a while helps, I will try that out.
My hood & bumper are wrapped, or i'd be worried about the paint.

your ghetto solution leads me to believe that something is moving. Pulling the bumper and tightening seems like a solution. If you do decide to adjust the hood, take some pictures or even a video and document everything.

Personally I would not mess with the hood. I think it looks like a bumper issue. Take it to where your dealer sends its cars. I would venture to say they can most likely fix it w/o touching the hood.

number9ine? did you take a picture of the front of your car (radiator area) with the bumper off? When I added a center radiator to my 981 Cayman, one of the items was a very stout lower radiator bumper. It is Alu and fits snug under the lower center radiator plastic inlet. It bolts to six 8mm studs and two aligning dowels on the lowest part of the latch panel bulkhead. If that gets bumped up it should deform the front bumper UP. Just a thought. Gled

For my previous 997s, I'd use my fingers at the front leading edges of the hood nearest the fenders to close the lid. Not sure how the manual for the 991reads. Be sure to look at the underside of the hood to view where the structural braces are. They will bear the pressure much better.

I have the same issue with mine, It is not the hood. The problem is the part of the bumper closest to the hood (air intake) comes loose at the top near the mesh screen. Take a look I bet yours is the same.

I think what number9ine suggested will be the solution. I am guessing, based on the fact that the towel trick works, that the bumper moved when you bottomed out. By loosening an retightening the screws that secure the bumper you should be able to retighten it in the proper position. I would not touch the hood. It could be a bear to align if you loosen it. Good luck!
