LOL, t's a feel good feature. It's temporarily hough. Makes you think you are getting good MPG when the tank is full

hybrid tech
FB and google every where
and the germans can't design a fkg fuel gauge that moves in a linear way to reflect fuel depletion. is it really that hard?
perhaps someone will write an app and we can buy from the app store and fix this complex prob.?

I can assure you consumption will increase once you press the button But yeah, tank is big, my last fill up cost AED 155 which is the most I have ever paid for a tank of gas in UAE. 458 fill up can reach AED 138.

The tank is big. Personally I don't care when the needle starts to move as long as it doesn't show full when it is empty. If it takes 100 miles for it to start dipping so be it. I love the car and that flaw doesn't ruin it for me.

Ok so I have to ask. With the 90 litre tank how many miles/ klicks do you get out of a tank. I have never gotten more than 450 k out of a full tank having said that I cruise the car in the 4000 to 5000 rpm range

Mine is fine in the last 200 miles of range and seems really good when the yellow come one. My guess it if you go to where it says 0 miles left it means it.
I lest someone else confirm this...........

Old thread but my 90L tank's fuel gauge is operating exactly like the other posters here, it doesn't come off full until I've drive approx 150 miles. I've only put gas in once so far..when the gauge was at 1/2 full and I put in 15.5 gallons. Far more than the 12 gallons I was expecting.
So has anyone had this issue looked into at the dealer? And if so what was done (calibration, replace sensor, etc) and is it better? My dealer is a low volume one and doesn't have any experience here so any input will be appreciated.

Same here...on the way to my 150 mile trade in drive I noticed the needle stuck on full for over 100 miles. I thought it was broke and worried. Nearing my destination the guage started to fall. Sounds like a normal Porsche quirk to me.

In addition, the estimated milage available shown on the configurable display stays around the same level until the fuel gauge starts moving. must be a fuel sensor position in the tank plus software.

So my f350 has an aftermarket 65 gallon tank. You would think this would throw the fuel gauge and the distance computer completely out of whack- nope, not only does the gauge work, but the distance to empty is even better than before, within 10 miles(and unloaded the range is around 900miles!). So if ford can do this with a simple reprogram at the dealer with an aftermarket tank, why can't Porsche figure it out for a std option?
