Clubsport Package. Yes or No?

I currently drive a 2014 4S and am seriously considering trading it for a GT3. However almost all the GT3s that are available in Europe right now are equipped with the Clubsport package which I don't really want because the roll cage takes away a lot of the convenience factor for me e.g. occasional weekends away, room for the dog in the back, etc. So it would primarily just be my weekend car and only tracked once a year for fun.

A dealer nearby currently has two on the floor (both sold). One with Clubsport and one without. The sales rep said "it takes forever to sell a GT3 without the Clubsport package but GT3's with the package sell in a flash"

So my question is mainly targeted to the European community but am also interested in any comments from the USA fraternity, in your experience, is the sales rep right? Is the Clubsport package perceived as a must have in Europe and does it affect the ability to sell the car if you don't have it?

I live in the US, but if they offered that package here in the state, I would not buy a GT3 wihout it!

So, from my point of view...I would say that the SA is on the money.

As for 997 series, yes, used GT3s with CS are/were sold easily.

But the main point is not the cage but the seats imho, a second owner can add cage and schroth belts (the cost is not so high), but add LWB will be expensive.

If you don't want to track you car at all, buy with LWB only and enjoy it.

Consider another point, a used GT3 with LWB seats (no cage) NEVER used on track is going to be more attractive than a clubsport GT3 with a hard track day use ;)

Go for a club sport! My dog doesn't like 1.3g. 😃😃

Club

Jesus yes take it.
Remove the bar and i will pay you to send it to me. :)
Or you can keep the bar in your garage until you sell the car later in life.

From what I've seen in Aus a clubsport spec is far more popular than the touring spec. Touring spec versions seem to be hard to move. Every GT3 my dealer has sold has had the clubsport pack fitted. I know of one dealer that has an early 2014 GT3 still on the showroom floor (without the clubsport pack) and they can't move it.

To me it seems the appeal of the GT3 is the 'Motorsport' heritage which includes having all the gear for the track (even if you only go once a year or not at all...). If you want a tourer pick up a turbo.

CS. A GT3 needs to be special. I bought a CS :-)

I'll happily buy the bar from you. Problem solved!

I would get it for my personal preference. And even MORE-S0 just to get something that we always lose out on in the U.S. compared to all the cool stuff you guys get on the EU versions.
