Default Car is STILL in the Body Shop, Since 12/19

So my dealer told me on December 19 that my car was in the "body shop" at the factory. He said that usually, when they're in that section, they end production in 1 - 2 days.

I asked for an update now and he said it was still there.

Anyone know what the hold up is?

I have LWB's, maybe it's waiting for the seats?

That doesn't sound right. I wouldn't think they would start production on a car and not have the proper seats available there.

Not sure about that. They have a slot for your car with or without seats. They run the Cup cars through on the regular production line and then pull them off the line and do work on them. It would be easy to install seats after the fact. My guess is it is awaiting seats.

So my car was supposed to go to V270 on 1/16/2015.

I asked my dealer if the car made it on a boat. Well, he just said that it's STILL in V260 and that it won't be until 1/30/2015 that it goes to V270. At this point, I doubt I'll ever get this car. As great as it is, I really don't know if it's worth this hassle and wait, especially since the RS, 991.2 will be out like almost one month after I receive my car.

I understand your frustration. If the RS. Is what you are waiting for then I would just get that BUT if it is shown in March ( still not 100%) then you have got another 3-4 months after that until you get it in your hands. So a 5 month wait from now - that is of course if you have an assured build slot and that build opportunity comes up right away.

As an FYI. There are several of us west coasters with cars completed production and waiting at port for ship since dec 15. Next delivery into san diego is feb 25. Next ship leaving port is jan 28. If your car doesnt make that ship then you are looking at mid to late march.

wtf is wrong with Porsche? are they trying to artificially limit and stagger GT3's?

Word is Porsche was holding cars so they deliver in calendar year 2015 so they count towards this years sales. 2014's sales targets were met already.

They were holding cars at ports in the US and Canada and not delivering to dealers.

Seriously? They get August off too don't they?

What is it exactly that they do that entitles them to so much holiday as a reward?
