My New Forgeline Wheels
Finally got my Forgeline GA1Rs back on the car.
I'm getting good at Centerlock wheel removal and install. This time 45 min.
to do all four wheels by myself.
I have to say the folks at Forgeline are first class all the way!
They did a great job making the wheels for me to fit the new 991 GT3.
Their customer service is also very good and easy people to get a hold of.
I'm from the midwest and lived in Cincinnati for a long time, so I'm partial
to the folks from the area. They are located in Kettering, OH.
I decided since I had painted silver wheels on white for the summer months
that I would go a little darker for the winter months.
The color is Graphite and has a nice clear coat on top. I opted for Michelin
Alpin PA4 N-Spec for the colder climate here in Maryland. I won't be driving in the snow.
Driving on the Alpins for the first time was interesting after coming off the Dunlops.
First impression was wow, these tires have softer sidewalls!
Grip was good on dry 45 degree temps. A little twitchy but I expected that
with so many sipes and different rubber. When I drove on the Dunlops below
35 degrees, it felt like I was driving on granite tires.
I like the look of the GA1Rs and for the money, you can't beat it. They are
nice forged wheels and a set will only set you back about $6000.
The BBS are beautiful, but also close to $11,000. For a winter wheel I
like these fine. I will probably put a set of MSCP2s on these come summer.

Awesome choice! They look great.
I think there are a few aftermarket wheels that look better than the OEM's.
I like HRE and Forgeline.
I really like the GT-1 Forgeline

I rate Forgeline tops on the list when it comes to custom spec multi-piece wheels. HRE lost their way toward the 20 inch + crowd. Forgeline toes the line nicely between delivering really good looking street wheels to lightweight/strong track wheels. That's tough to do.

The wheels look great, I have Forgelines on my 2011 GT3. My question is you said you did the switch by yourself. How? Since Porsche recommends that you tighten the center locks with the car off the ground and someone holding the brake. I'm not being critical just inquisitive

I used a spreader clamp to depress the brake and wheel chocks to hold the fronts. Another person would help cut your time down though.
