Sport chrono / clock retrofit

The $1800 was a hard pill to swallow. I wasn't going to order it either but few people changed my mind saying its a track car and should have this option. Who knows. The dash will be easier to clean.

But if you want to save some money and you want a dash clock, you could always do something like this:

In a GT3 the only thing SC gets you is a clock and the track software which is of questionable value. No change to PDK programming and all GT3s have launch control.

I am AU based and would be keen to follow this path with a 991 GT3 that currently is absent of Chrono.
Appreciate any info you can share.
Cheers,

Are you 100% positive on this? I hate to question you but I have heard so many different answers. I am trying to purchase a 2016 GT3 RS and it does not have sports chrono... I really want launch control though. LC is standard on all GT3's?

Did anyone get an answer on retrofitting a clock? I wonder if there is a wiring harness under the dummy dash cover for those that don’t have sc. I would like to put the clock in for simply aesthetic reasons. Don’t care about the timing or chrono features

Yes, it's called trading in for a GT3 with sports chrono.

I think what is being asked (and not answered) is — Can you swap the Chrono face and some hardware for the ‘newer 991-style’ Chrono which KEEPS TIME? I just purchased a used 997.2 tts and it does bother me that the Chrono is in the off mode at all times Unless I activate the sport Chrono function which - unless you are at the track - is redundant w/the Trip ‘since’ function. I have a 991S w/sport Chrono, and what’s nice is that the wart on the dash serves a purpose - another clock that’s easier for me to locate than looking down and finding the digital one. Net - I would also like to change out the face and have a functioning clock on my dash... Can someone please post the specific links to the parts and hardware required to accomplish this end ...and not bugger up the forum w/subjective opinions?

nerve wrecking to remove cover.
